Is Anne Hathaway Pro-Life or Pro-Choice?
Anne Hathaway is a vocal pro-choice advocate. In a 2022 appearance on The View, she declared, “Abortion can be another word for mercy,” arguing that reproductive decisions should remain private and unregulated. She has criticized the overturning of Roe v. Wade, stating it “irrevocably changed” opportunities for young women in male-dominated industries.
Hathaway’s activism includes fundraising for abortion-access organizations and advocating for gender parity in healthcare legislation. Her 2025 film Hepburn subtly incorporated themes of bodily autonomy through its portrayal of Katharine Hepburn’s advocacy for women’s rights.
